"Julia is absolutely fantastic! I just wish she spent more time in either Phoenix or in Madrid so I could see more of her!”
~ Keely Moran, AZ/Spain
“Julia is a warm and enthusiastic teacher, dedicated to her students and capable of imparting to them not only the complexities of flamenco technique but also the passion necessary for a true understanding of the art form. Her teaching style is encouraging and open, her deep commitment to flamenco palpable and infectious, and her suggestions for improvement perceptive and constructive. She knows how to make her subject fun and accessible without ever reducing or trivializing it. It's a delight to work with Julia and I always look forward to our lessons.”
~ Robert Thorpe, Santa Fe, NM
"Thank you so much for teaching me. You have been an inspiration to me and it was a pleasure to be taught by such a good dancer. I learned a lot."
~ Olivia (age 11), Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
"Julia Chacon is a spirited flamenco dancer and teacher. Her genuine and humble love for the art form creates a class atmosphere where students desire to strive. She fosters a supportive community of students where classmates are focused on progress; there is no sense of competition. Julia's tablao shows are thoughtfully planned to integrate both talented flamenco colleagues as well as students with aspirations to perform. Everyone's strengths are showcased and the shows are some of the most dynamic I have seen (including shows in New Mexico, Chicago, Spain, and the Twin Cities). To study with Julia or to see her perform is a privilege I hope to have again soon!"
~ Julia Altenbach, Minneapolis, MN
"You are a great teacher – you execute even the simplest movement with such grace. Thank you for your patience! Hope to take more classes from you in the future."
~ Holly, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

"You must know how I appreciate your great flamenco technique class. You've pushed us to be better & stronger dancers. Because of it, my taconeo & brazeo have definitely improved. I've grown to be much more confident when I dance. I'm looking forward to the next class. Olé."
